A suspect has been charged with Assault of a Law Enforcement Officer in the second degree following an incident early on Sunday morning.

According to a release by the Marion County Prosecuting Attorney, Officer William Traw of the Hannibal Police Department was injured during a struggle with one Damien J. Gray who had been pulled over for driving with no headlights or taillights shortly before 2:00 am. During the altercation, both Gray and Traw fell to the ground which led to Traw’s hand being injured. X-rays revealed that his pinky finger was fractured and his flexor tendon had been ruptured.
