Sunday Morning Crash Near Wayland Claims One Life

An early morning crash Sunday on a Clark County road northwest of Wayland claims the life of a Keokuk teen.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a car driven by 20 year old Matthew Lefler of Donnellson Iowa went off Clark County Road 201 and hit a tree at 4:20 a-m. The car caught fire. A passenger—17 year old Meechele Page of Keokuk was pronounced dead at the scene by the Clark County Coroner. Lefler and two other passengers—17 year old Monique Baldridge of Warsaw and Calista Ortiz of Keokuk were taken to Blessing Hospital in Quincy for treatment of serious injuries.
