(Quincy, Ill)--After six months without a permanent school superintendent, the Quincy School Board announces it has chosen a man from Indiana to lead the district.

Steven M. Cobb will assume the role July 1st.  Cobb comes from Fort Wayne, Indiana where he is the chief academic officer.  Cobb has 36 years of experience as a teacher, principal, assistant superintendent and chief operations officer before his last promotion.

The appointment comes days after it was announced that QPS Business Manager Joel Murphy would be the newest interim superintendent as of Monday.  Murphy will remain in the position until Cobb begins July 1st.
