The Missouri State Auditor’s Office Wednesday announced the findings of a recent audit of Marion County.

In a summary released by State Auditor Nicole Galloway, there were a number of issues found in the way the county does its business.

The audit pointed out that employees of the Marion County Services for the Developmentally Disabled use multiple credit cards to purchase supplies and other items without board approval.

It was also pointed out that mileage logs were not kept to track personal commuting in county vehicle by the county Road and Bridge Supervisor and the County Coordinator.

A number of other record keeping issues were pointed out in the sheriff’s, county assessor’s and county collector’s offices.

Overall, the auditor gave Marion County a Fair rating.
