St. Louis is putting on a pretty face before the start of the baseball playoffs.

The Cardinals open the playoffs with home games Thursday and Friday against Pittsburgh. KMOX Radio reports that Todd Walterman, director of the St. Louis Street Department, is directing crews to paint crosswalks, patch potholes, pick up litter and trim trees ahead of the first game.

Walterman says additional workers are being brought in at night to help with cleanup.
