St Charles Woman Dies in Pike County Crash

A one car crash in Pike County, Missouri claims the life of a St. Charles woman.

Missouri Highway Patrol Troopers responded to the crash scene near Cyrene just after 11 p.m. Friday.  Troopers say 68 year-old Svetlana Avakyan lost control of her Toyota Camry on Highway 61, just south of Pike County Road 308.  Her car traveled off the roadway into a grass field.  The car then struck a steel post and a billboard sign.

Avakyan was pronounced dead at the scene by Pike County Coroner Jim Turner.
