It’s what we’ve been waiting weeks to hear. Spring officially arrives in our neck of the woods at 11:57 a.m. today.  

The winter of 2013-2014 was the tenth-coldest on record in Missouri, and the worst since the all-time coldest of 1978-1979. Temperatures around the state averaged more than four degrees below normal.

Thermometer readings -- especially at night -- will be chilly for a while and you can blame the slow-changing temperatures of the oceans are to blame for that. But the promise of warmer weather is finally upon us.

In case you were wondering, summer officially starts at 5:51 a.m. June 21st.
