Weather permitting, a bridge on Highway 61 that had been closed for deck rehabilitation will reopen Wednesday.

The Missouri Department of Transportation reports that the South Fabius River bridge north of Palmyra will reopen after extensive work on the bridge deck.

MODOT says northbound traffic will shift back to the original northbound lanes. The removal of the temporary crossovers at the bridge site could take several weeks.

While the crossovers are being removed, there will be one-lane traffic both north and southbound on 61 from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
