Social Media Assists in Pike County, IL Arrest

Law enforcement authorities in Pike County, Illinois give social media a big assist in the arrest of a Chicago area man in Pittsfield Wednesday.

The Pike County Sheriff’s Office reports that a citizen posted on Facebook that a suspicious man wearing dark glasses and carrying a walking stick was following her and her young daughter around in a Pittsfield store.

This and similar Facebook posts led to an investigation by Pittsfield Police and sheriff’s deputies, which resulted in the arrest of 49 year old Kevin Davis of Brookfield, Illinois.

He was charged with failure to register as a child sex offender out of Cook County, Illinois.

Davis is in the Pike County Jail.
