Quincy Board of Education members announce a change in location for a new elementary school.

Board members Tuesday morning approved a 17-acre site at 48th and Columbus Road as the third location for a new elementary school. The previous location on Locust west of the post office will be put up for sale. The school is one of five new elementary schools to be built under an $89 million plan. Work is underway on a new facility near the present Monroe School. Another will be at the location of Baldwin Elementary. One site remains to be chosen.
