After a mostly rain-free Memorial Day weekend, a warm and wet week is a possibility for the week ahead.

A summertime weather pattern appears to be settling in for northeast Missouri and western Illinois.

As of Tuesday morning, the National Weather Service calls for anywhere from a 20 to 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms through next Monday.

Specifically, forecasters say strong storms with heavy rain, strong winds and small hail could happen from midday through early evening Tuesday.

Temperatures are expected to settle in to a summer pattern, with highs in the 80s and lows in the 60s through the first of next week.
