After a rainy Sunday, clouds should clear out, leaving sunshine and warming temperatures this week in northeast Missouri and western Illinois.

National Weather Service forecasters say there is a slight chance of showers through mid-afternoon Monday, but that's the only chance of precipitation in the forecast through Sunday.

Highs for the week will improve, starting in the mid 50s Monday and Tuesday, moving through the 60s Wednesday through Friday, with highs in the low 70s for the weekend.

Monday night is expected to be a frosty one, with a low of 29 and a Freeze Warning for the area early Tuesday morning.

After that, lows will move from the mid 30s Tuesday night to around 50 for the weekend.
