A teenage shoplifting suspect is nursing injuries suffered while attempting to elude store security.

Quincy police responded to the Wal-Mart store on Broadway at 3:50 p.m. Saturday, after Loss Prevention officers began chasing a white male suspect believed to be stealing electronics. The suspect was reported to be running east toward Sam’s Club.

Officers searching the area received an additional call that the suspect had been struck by a vehicle on 54th Street, but he continued running eastbound.  A short time later the 16 year-old suspect was located east of Interstate 172, just north of Broadway.  He was found suffering from head and wrist injuries and was taken to Blessing Hospital for treatment.

Officers arrested the juvenile for Shoplifting and released him to a parent.
