The Hannibal Regional Hospital Foundation's fourth annual Shoeless Joe's Celebrity Golf Classic held June 12 raised over $66,000 to benefit the year-long Healthy Way Campaign, which is raising funds to create a fitness trail on our medical campus. The Healthy Way Campaign seeks to generate $180,000 this year, and to date has raised over $130,000.

The Celebrity Golf Classic, which topped the amount raised in 2012, was officially sponsored by Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network and provided participants the opportunity to play with a member of the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame and/or other sports celebrities. The event was again held at Norwoods Golf Club in Hannibal.

The Foundation was also pleased to offer the annual Shoeless Joe's Celebrity Night at the Ballpark on June 11, with over two dozen sports celebrities at the Hannibal Cavemen game at Clemens Field. Among the celebrities to attend were former MU and St. Louis Cardinals football players Johnny Roland and Mel Gray, former MU and Oakland Raider player Gus Otto and former Cleveland Indian Scott Bailes. Other sports celebrities included former Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Art Still, St Louis Cardinal Football players Eddie Moss and Eric Williams, New Orleans Saints Tony Galbreath, as well as Chicago White Sox Joe Crede.

The annual Shoeless Joe’s events continue to offer great community engagement while including donors, volunteers, Celebrities and HRHS team members.  For more information or to view photos from this year’s Shoeless Joe’s Celebrity Golf Classic or to make a contribution to the Healthy Way Campaign, contact the Hannibal Regional Hospital Foundation at 573-629-3577 or visit hrhf.org.
