A line of unseasonal severe storms moved through the area Wednesday afternoon.

Severe thunderstorm warnings were posted for northeast Missouri and western Illinois about mid afternoon, with a tornado warning posted in Pike County Illinois about 4 p.m.

National Weather Service radar indicated a funnel cloud in the Griggsville area late Wednesday afternoon. A tornado was also reported in McDonough County a short time later.

Hail was also reported in the area, ranging from pea sized to larger than a quarter.

There is a lingering chance of showers through early this afternoon, with temperatures cooling off after highs in the 60s Wednesday.
