Illinois State Police District 20 Commander, Captain Robert Elliott announced that Sergeant Troy Rupert was selected as Illinois State Police District 20 Trooper of the Year, and will represent District 20 as a candidate for the Illinois State Police Officer of the Year in Springfield.

Sergeant Rupert began his Illinois State Police career in April of 1999 after working four years with the Quincy Police Department. Sergeant Rupert’s primary duties focus on patrol but he has performed many other duties including being District 20’s K-9 Office and a member of the District 20 Special Enforcement Team for multiple years. Rupert continues to perform as the Field Training Officer to go along with his being the Juvenile Officer for District 20 as well.

Sergeant Rupert also has received two Department Commendations for his work with the Illinois State Police. During 2007, he was also recognized by the Illinois Department of Transportation for his efforts in DUI enforcement.

Sergeant Rupert resides in Quincy with his family and serves as a role model to the youth of the community. Congratulations to Sergeant Troy Rupert, The District 20 Illinois State Police Trooper of the Year.
