(QUINCY)—A three hour and forty minute search ends successfully as searchers locate a Quincy resident who called from a cell phone at 5:12 this (TH) morning and reported being lost in the woods near the Mississippi River.

Adams County Sheriff’s deputies… Quincy Police and Adams County Emergency Management Agency officials with help from the Quincy Fire Department rescue boat located the individual along the river south of the Knapheide Landing boat ramp at 8:52 a.m. Information from the individual’s cell phone provider assisted in determining the general location. Deputies say the individual was taken by EMS to Blessing Hospital due to exposure to the weather. No condition report is available at this time.
