Salvation Army Opening Cooling Centers

The Quincy Salvation Army will open the Kroc Center and Family Services Office as Cooling Centers on days when heat advisories are issued for the area.

The Family Services Office, located at 333 North 6th, will be open Monday through Thursday from 9 am to 4pm.

The Kroc Center at 405 Vermont, will be open 9am to 4pm seven days a week, for those days when people need a place to get out of the extreme heat.

Weather forecasters are calling for highs in the mid to upper 90s, to near 100 degrees, for the next several days.
