Rural Adams County Fire Destroys Barn, Hay

Tri-Township firefighters responded to a barn fire on the Stan Peter farm on Ehrhardt Road southeast of Quincy at 2:20 p.m. Friday.

Fire crews found that a barn containing about 220 round hay bales had caught fire, apparently by spontaneous combustion.

Fire officials say the barn and most of the hay it in were destroyed.

The Payson Fire Department assisted in fighting the fire. No one was hurt.
