Illinois State Police officials say you can expect roadside safety checks in Adams County during May.
District 20 commander Captain Jon Dively says officers will be watchful for drivers operating in an unsafe manner, driving while suspended or revoked and transporting open alcoholic beverages. Troopers will also focus on driving under the influence, seat belt and child restraint use, speeding and distracted driving and vehicle code and criminal violations. The extra enforcement is funded through the Illinois Department of Transportation.
