Illinois State Police say a roadside safety check late last week yielded two driving under the influence arrests.

Troopers also say there were three other alcohol related arrests during the roadside safety check late last Wednesday night and early Thursday morning. There were also five arrests for occupant restraint violations and two driver’s license offenses. There were a total of 17 citations and arrests as a result of the roadside safety check. Troopers say the roadside checks are designed to remove alcohol impaired drivers from the road but when other violations are observed, enforcement action may be taken.
