(UNDATED)--Heavy rains have pushed the Mississippi River up again, and levels are expected to go higher before leveling off. The river at Hannibal is at 14 feet with a rise to 17.2 feet expected by Wednesday. Technical flood stage at Hannibal is 16 feet. The Mississippi at Quincy is up to 13.18 and its expected to rise there to 16.2 feet by Thursday. Flood stage at Quincy is 17 feet. At Canton, the river is at 10.1 feet this morning with a rise to 15.1 feet expected by Thursday.

The river stage at Louisiana stood Wednesday at 16-point-four-feet. That’s more than a foot above flood stage.

The level at Clarksville was more than a foot-and-a-half above flood stage. Winfield and Saverton also reported rising waters.

More heavy showers were expected overnight Wednesday before tapering off later Thursday. The forecast calls for clearing starting Friday and into the weekend.
