Missouri Highway Patrol troopers say DWI saturation patrols in Monroe and Ralls Counties last weekend netted one DWI arrest and six traffic citations.

Three citations were for speeding and two were for seat belt violations. Troopers also issued 37 warnings. The extra enforcement was in effect from 10 p-m Saturday until 2 a-m Sunday in specific areas. The goal is to detect impaired drivers and other traffic violations that contribute to traffic crashes. Captain James Wilt of the Missouri Highway Patrol says "the Patrol will conduct more traffic enforcement programs in coming months. The Highway Patrol is very serious about removing the impaired driver from our roadways."
