Authorities have identified a 10-year-old Mennonite boy who died after a sport utility vehicle crashed into the back of a horse-drawn carriage in northwest Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the crash happened Thursday morning near Wheeling in Livingston County. Joshua Leinbach of Wheeling was killed. He and his two sisters, 7-year-old Amanda and 8-year-old Katelyn, were thrown from the buggy. The patrol said Amanda suffered serious injuries, while Katelyn's injuries were minor.

Penny Anderson, the 44-year-old driver of the SUV, also suffered minor injuries in the wreck. She told KMBC-TV that she had been temporarily blinded by the morning sun before hitting the buggy.

Anderson says the children's family visited her in the hospital and told her they didn't blame her for the wreck.
