UPDATE: 1:52 p.m.

The Champ Clark Bridge in Louisiana is closed for emergency repairs until tonight.

The Missouri Department of Transportation originally announced that there would be one lane of traffic allowed on the bridge to repair a hole in a joint on the bridge.

However, further evaluation revealed the hole was too close to the center line to just close one lane.

The bridge was closed to all traffic about 10:30 a.m. Thursday, and MODOT estimated the bridge would be closed from six to eight hours.
