Recent rains have helped Missouri crops.

The latest statewide report from USDA shows corn rated at 83 percent good to excellent, with soybeans at 84 percent good to excellent. Both crops are well ahead of the 2013 growth pattern and even the five-year average.

Rainfall last week averaged a little over two inches around the state, with parts of Pike County and its neighbors receiving four inches or more. Topsoil moisture across the state is rated at 69 percent adequate to surplus.
