Ralls County Law Enforcement No Longer Using Ralls 911 Services

Ralls County law enforcement shifts its dispatch services to Marion County.
The change was effective at 2:00 pm Thursday according to a news release from the Ralls County Sheriff’s department. The move follows a letter to law enforcement earlier this week from Ralls County 911 Emergency Services detailing changes in dispatch policies. Concerns about liability issues and feasibility of rendering criminal information services to law enforcement led to the change in policy by Ralls 911. The Ralls County Sheriff's office says criminal history information to be discontinued is essential in determining what level of offense to charge someone newly arrested for certain crimes such as driving while intoxicated or driving while suspended or revoked. Ralls County Sheriff office and police in New London, Center and Perry are now working with Marion County 911.
