The Ralls County Junior Fair continues this week at the fairgrounds in Center. An event that a lot of the county's 4-H'ers look forward to takes place tonight (July 17).

The livestock and meat sale begins at 7 p.m. It serves as a payoff to those 4-H and FFA members who have spent all year raising their livestock, specifically for this show.

The money raised from the sale that goes to the young people is used to finance next year's project and to help pay for college, among other things.

This is the season for county fairs, and the Pike County starts Sunday, July 20, with a full schedule of shows and sales for the 4-H and FFA students at the fairgrounds in Bowling Green.
