NEW LONDON, MO - The Ralls County Emergency Services Board of Directors met in closed session on Monday July 15th, to discuss the course of action it needed to take following the loss of its Executive Director and several other 911 employees since its June meeting.

In what was the most difficult decision the 911 Board has ever had to make, it voted unanimously that it was necessary to cease all operations at the 911 center in New London and lay-off the remaining 911 staff until a long-range plan addressing a number of internal operational, training, and management issues can be resolved. This lay-off affects five (5) full-time and (5) part-time employees.

It is the goal of the 911 Board to provide the highest quality 911 services possible and it hopes to return operations to the dispatch center in New London in the future. To help achieve this goal, a public meeting will be held at the Center High School on Tuesday, August 13th, at 7:00 PM. All interested persons are invited to attend to help review and discuss the strategic plan being developed by the 911 Board.

*Press release from Ralls County 911
