Our two-week stretch of more pleasant temperatures have apparently come to an end in northeast Missouri and western Illinois.

As we turn the corner into September, National Weather Service forecasters say high temperatures hovering around the 90 degree mark will be the norm through Sunday.

Low temperatures will settle in around 70 through the week as well.

With the holiday weekend coming up, a look ahead to Labor Day Monday calls for cooler temperatures with a slight chance of rain during the day and a better chance of rain Monday night into Tuesday. Highs for Monday are expected to top out only in the low 80s, with lows Monday night around 60.
