Wet weather forces a change in location for Hannibal High School’s Graduation ceremony.

2014 Commencement exercises moved from Porter Stadium to Korf Gym after rain began to fall early Thursday evening.   Two-hundred two graduates received diplomas in front of a packed house.

Student speakers Melanie Blase and Alijah Harrison addressed their fellow graduates and the audience.

Superintendent Jill Janes says 71 graduates plan to attend 4 year colleges; 70 will enroll in 2 year programs.  Ten will pursue vocational-technical training, while 9 graduates are headed to the military. Another 42 plan to enter the job market.

The 2014 commencement was the last one for outgoing Superintendent Dr. Jill Janes, who is retiring. Her replacement will be current Assistant Superintendent Susan Johnson.
