(QUINCY)—Railroad history is coming to Quincy this weekend. The Illinois Railway Museum is operating a excursion trains this Saturday and Sunday from Chicago to West Quincy and back to Chicago.

The excursions feature the I-R-M’s Nebraska Zephyr which ran between Chicago and Lincoln Nebraska until 1968. The locomotive is a Chicago Burlington and Quincy E-5 built in 1940. The engine and cars have been featured in movies including “A League Of Their Own” in 1992.

The excursion train is expected to arrive in the Quincy area around 1:40pm, turn on the wye north of US 24 in West Quincy around 2pm and then return north to Galesburg and Chicago each day.
