Investigators are looking into the cause of a train derailment in Hannibal early Tuesday morning.

Officials report five cars of a Norfolk Southern train jumped the tracks near 30th Street between Market Street and Warren Barrett Drive at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.

A railroad spokesperson said two of cars that derailed were empty and three contained coconut oil.

No cars overturned and no product spilled.
