Quincy Woman Jailed on Felony Charges
(Quincy, Ill)—It started as a report of criminal damage to a vehicle. It ended with the owner’s arrest in Quincy overnight.
Around 8:30 p.m. Friday, Quincy Police responded to 624 South 17th after 26 year-old Bryonte Lewis reported her vehicle was damaged by suspects she could identify. She even provided witnesses to corroborate her story.
The initial investigation led police to arrest one of the suspects, but further investigation revealed the individuals implicated were not involved in the damage after all. Lewis ended up wearing the handcuffs and faces charges of Filing a False Police Report (disorderly conduct), and Obstructing Justice, Class 4 Felonies. Lewis is lodged in the Adams County Jail.
