Quincy University is adding to its varsity sports offerings.
Men’s and women’s Lacrosse will be added with varsity competition beginning during the 2019-2020 school year. The new lacrosse programs will be the 18th and 19th varsity sports that compete in the NCAA. The Great Lakes Valley Conference currently has six men’s teams competing in lacrosse and the league will also soon add competition in lacrosse for women.

Q-U Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Marty Bell says, “We are excited about the addition of men’s and women’s lacrosse. The benefits of bringing new athletes to QU from different markets will diversify our student body and allow QU to extend its academic offerings to prospective students from new regions of the country. We have a state of the art facility and the infrastructure to make lacrosse successful both on and off the field. These program additions complement the university’s growth initiatives which will be vital to the long-term sustainability of QU.”

The search for lacrosse coaches is starting with their positions beginning this June.
