The Quincy University Board of Trustees has officially begun the search for a new president.

The QU Board announced Friday the appointment of Michael McClain to chair the Presidential Search Committee.

McClain is a current member of the Board of Trustees and a former Illinois State Representative.

McClain will be forming a search committee of faculty, staff, students, alumni and community members.

In the meantime, the trustees’ steering committee is looking for a search firm to assist in the nationwide search for a new president.

Former QU President Dr. Robert Gervasi resigned in March to accept a similar position in Ohio. Phil Conover is serving as acting president until a new president is named.
