Help Quincy University students stock local food pantries, with the third annual “QU Cares Food Drive.”

Quincy residents are encouraged to gather together food items this Sunday, (8/19) for collection by Quincy University students.

Bags will be distributed to local households for food item donations.  Items being collected include canned vegetables,  soups and puddings, as well as cereals, flour and pancake mixes, pasta, peanut butter, powdered milk and infant formula.

Non-food items wanted include diapers, laundry soap, toilet paper, shampoo, soap and toothpaste.

Students will also pick up items on Monday. Call 217-228-5320 for more information on collection and more specific details about products needed.

Last year, students were able to collect five thousand pounds of goods for local food pantries, and are trying to surpass 2011′s total.
