Quincy Traffic Stop Yields Two Drug Arrests
(QUINCY)—A traffic stop at 27th and Chestnut in Quincy at 5:32 Sunday afternoon results in two drug related arrests.
Quincy Police street crimes officers stopped a car driven by 21-year-old Chayla Smith of Ursa. A search by the department’s K-9 unit Kilo led to the discovery of over 10 grams of suspected crack cocaine and 140 grams of a substance believed to be marijuana. A digital scale and over 15 hundred dollars in cash were also found in the car.
A passenger, 27-year-old Natas Reed of Quincy, was also taken into custody. He’d been on parole from the Illinois Department of Corrections since August. Smith and Reed were taken to the Adams County Jail.
