A traffic stop at 11:44 pm Wednesday at 2nd and Hampshire results in the arrest of a Quincy man on several charges.
Quincy Police say they found that 23-year-old Deonte Jones was driving on a suspended license and that he was unable to locate an insurance card in the vehicle. An inventory of property in the vehicle prior to towing resulted in the discovery of a .40 caliber firearm, a baggie containing prescription medication and a large amount of methamphetamine concealed in clothing in the trunk. A police officer also noticed a bag of cocaine on the floor of his squad car as Jones was being transported. Jones is in the Adams County Jail facing charge of manufacture or delivery of meth, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, Possession of a controlled substance, possession of cocaine, driving while suspended and operating an uninsured vehicle.
