The Quincy School Board Tuesday morning approved over $7.2 million dollars worth of contracts for the construction project at Quincy High School.

A total of 12 different contracts were awarded, covering everything from general carpentry, roofing and glass to plumbing, mechanical and electrical.

The board took note of the fact that the contracts collectively came in some $2.3 million dollars under budget.

The construction at the high school includes a new freshman addition with classrooms, a technology lab and spaces for maintenance and operations.

Site work on the project is underway. Work is expected to be completed in August of 2016.
