The Quincy Public Schools issued a notice to parents Wednesday outlining its plans in the wake of the impending teachers’ strike.

The teachers union voted to strike Tuesday, January 17th.

According to Superintendent Roy Webb, the remainder of this school week would take place as usual, and that all weekend extra-curricular activities would go on as scheduled.

There will be no school Monday in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

However, if the strike goes forward Tuesday, all classes and extra-curricular activities will cease until the strike ends.

Anyone with questions or concerns is asked to call the school board office at 217-223-8700 or visit the Quincy Public Schools website.
