A call to Quincy Police about a subject with a gun late Thursday night results in some tense moments on the Wal-Mart parking lot.

Officers were called by a store employee at 10:12 p-m after two different individuals reported seeing subjects in a red van loading rifles with ammunition. Several officers responded and two individuals in the van were taken into custody. A realistic pellet rifle was taken from the van. Police say it did not have an orange tip or other identifiers to indicate that it was a toy. The investigation found that one of the individuals had just purchased the pellet rifle from a private individual and they were looking it over while waiting for a third individual to finish shopping. The two people in the van were released without charge.
