Quincy Pedestrian Accident

(QUINCY)—A four year old Quincy girl sustained injury at 4:43 Tuesday afternoon as she tried to cross North 18th between Broadway and Spring. Quincy Police say Maelyn Emeka was cutting between vehicles stopped for a traffic light when she ran into the side of a vehicle driven by 21 year old Samantha Wike of Quincy. Emeka’s head was clipped by the vehicle’s rear view mirror. Four witnesses told Quincy Police Wike did nothing wrong. Police say Emeka’s was traveling with her two brothers and another friend. No parents were with the children at the time. Police say a general offense report has been filed.
