One Quincy native recently had the opportunity to perform in one of the nation’s most auspicious venues: The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.

On November sixteenth, Frances “Fran” Fonza, a Quincy native and QHS graduate, was invited to conduct a shoir as part of the Kennedy Center’s performance series “Music: A Force For Mending”. This particular event, featuring a cappella choirs from across the D.C. region, was meant to explore themes of racial reconciliation, justice, and equality.

Fonza attended University of Missouri and received her Master’s in Music Education from Florida State University. She is the daughter of Les and Connie Fonza of Quincy. Les Fonza is a very active member of Quincy’s music community.
