A website that presents information on places to go once you’ve retired has selected Quincy as a city where people go to live and then stay when they retire.
The website GangsAway.com gathered data on which towns in each of the 50 states had the highest percentage of baby boomers who live there and then stay when they reach retirement.
Of the 50 cities named, Quincy was the Illinois representative. Burlington was the Iowa city chosen, while Mehlville, Missouri represented the Show-Me State.
A story about the list in the Huffington Post listed activities, weather and cost of living as possible factors in compelling seniors 55 and over to stay put once they’ve retired.
