A young Quincy man faces several charges after he drove off from a traffic stop late Tuesday afternoon.

Quincy Police stopped a motorcycle operated by 23 year old Christopher Smith at Gardner Expressway and Jefferson. Officers say Smith fled along Front Street at a high rate of speed. A short time later… police learned from witnesses that Smith wrecked in a gravel parking lot at Front and Broadway and fled on foot. Smith was treated and released at Blessing Hospital and taken to the Adams County Jail. Police say Smith is charged with aggravated fleeing to elude, Operating an uninsured vehicle, reckless driving, leaving the scene of a vehicle accident, violation of license classification, no valid registration and two counts of disobeying a stop sign.
