A Quincy man pleaded not guilty Wednesday to a financial exploitation of the elderly charge in Adams County Circuit Court.

46-year-old Michael Hawk is alleged to have stolen more than $19,000 from his mother’s bank accounts while he had her power of attorney.

The thefts are alleged to have taken place from October of 2013 to November of 2014, while his mother was in a nursing home.

A trial date for Hawk has been set for April.
