A Quincy man is charged following a seven hour standoff Thursday night.
Lincoln County Missouri Sheriff's deputies were attempting to arrest a Lincoln County man near Hawk Point when they observed three men standing near the house. A press release from the sheriff's department says when a sergeant exited the car, one of the males ran behind the residence and into a field and discharged a handgun toward deputies pursuing him. Deputies secured the area and a negotiator from the Troy Police Department was called in. During the negotiation, it was learned that the suspect was 39 year old Jason McEntee of Quincy. McEntee was wanted for a parole violation stemming from a kidnapping and narcotics possession case in Quincy. McEntee is held in the Lincoln County Jail on 75-thousand dollars cash only bond. Deputies say McEntee was taken to an area hospital for a mental evaluation following his arrest.
