A Quincy man charged in connection with an October house fire in which two children died made his first appearance in Adams County Circuit Court Wednesday.

34 year old William Brewer is charged with two counts each of involuntary manslaughter and endangering the life of a child.

Last October 12th, a fire at a residence at 611 North Eighth resulted in the deaths of eight year old Toby Brewer and five year old Emma Kramer.

Brewer and the children’s mother, 34 year old Marilyn Kramer, are alleged to have run damaged extension cords from a neighbor’s home to get electricity and placed the cords under a mattress, causing the fire.

Both Brewer and Kramer are in the Adams County Jail on $25,000 bond each. Both are scheduled to be back in court February 27th.
