The Hannibal Cavemen again found out why the best team in the Prospect League these days is the Quincy Gems, as the Western Division Leaders posted an 18-4 win over Hannibal Tuesday night at Clemens Field.

The Gems scored five times in the second and continued to post crooked numbers, scoring four in the fourth, one in the fifth, four in the sixth, and two more in the eighth and ninth.

The Cavemen scored two of their own in the fourth, along with single tallies in the seventh and ninth.

It was another rough night for the Hannibal pitching staff, allowing fifteen hits and walking 13 Gems' batters.

The loss drops the Cavemen to 3-7, while the Gems improve to 9-2.

Hannibal travels to Danville Wednesday, with the Cavemen and Dans coming to Clemens Field for a doubleheader Thursday. If you can't make it to the Cavemen home games, you can listen here.
